Riverside - Rubbish kept out of the Loop

Staff from Riverside’s estate management board in Childwall helped to clear almost half a tonne of rubbish from the neighbouring loop-line – part of the Trans-Pennine Cycle Trail that runs around the Hartsbourne estate.

The clean-up was organised by Sustrans – the sustainable transport charity that encourages people to walk, cycle and use public transport to reduce motor traffic and its adverse effects.
Seven keen volunteers helped to clear the area – a 10 mile path for walkers, cyclists and horse riders running from Halewood to Aintree.

Deb Clisham, estate management board manager for Riverside properties in Childwall said: “It was great to see staff volunteer to work on clearing the loop-line. We learned about the natural habitat of the area and how to avoid disturbing it while clearing the way to improve safety.”
